House of Pancakes Reptile Rescue Inc. is a foster-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization located in Poughkeepsie, Dutchess County, New York. Our purpose is to provide compassionate care for reptiles who have been neglected, abandoned, or abused. Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome while promoting healthy and humane treatment.

Our primary focus is being able to accommodate medically fragile (or otherwise special needs) reptiles that other rescues may not have the resources for. Our vet costs in 2025 amounted to over $23,000 which was made entirely possible by donations and merchandise sales through our Etsy storefront & local expos. Thank you for making this possible!

Dogs and cats aren't the only animals worthy of a second chance! By adopting a reptile from HoPRR you know what you're getting in terms of personality, diet, and temperament - purchasing from a pet store or breeder is a gamble. We screen adopters to be sure they are matched with the best scaly baby FOR THEM. And we're here to provide life-long support for adoptive families!

ALL SURRENDERS MUST BE DROPPED OFF IN POUGHKEEPSIE, NEW YORK OR LAKEWOOD, PA
EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2026 OUR SURRENDER FEE WILL INCREASE FROM $40 TO $50 PER ANIMAL. As we continue to grow so does our cost to operate. This will help us to offset veterinary costs, electric, food, cleaning supplies, and other consumables. We greatly appreciate your understanding.

" I adopted a special needs, senior, bearded dragon from the House of Pancakes. Jamie at HoP saved this beardie's life. When she was surrendered to the rescue, she was severely emaciated and weak. In the rescue's care, she was taken to the vet and properly set on the road to recovery.
I live in Maryland but I drove to New York to get my beardie. I had been following her progress on Instagram and when she was available for adoption, Jamie made this easy for me. She also patiently answered my many questions.
